Please note: (1) all services will be held at the First Unitarian Church of Honolulu (2500 Pali Highway Honolulu, Hawaii 96817) unless otherwise specified, (2) all potlucks are dairy/parve, and (3) babysitting services are available for Rosh Hashana services, Yom Kippur services, and regular Shabbat morning services.

Meet Rabbi Rosalind Glazer

Rabbi Rosalind GlazerOrdained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College (RRC) in 2003, Rabbi Rosalind Glazer made Aliyah in 2012. After moving to Jerusalem to serve as Interim Director for RRC’s rabbinical program in Israel, she founded Joyful Jerusalem Lifecycles and Destination Celebrations where she works with students, couples and families to create and officiate at uplifting and deeply
spiritual Jewish lifecycle occasions. An active member of the Kehilat Zion, an innovative congregation in Jerusalem, for the past five High Holidays she has served two different congregations in the New York area.

She is the former senior Rabbi of Congregation Beth Israel Judea in San Francisco. During her tenure there she co-chaired the Board of Rabbis and Jewish Federation’s joint project “A Year of Civil Discourse” on Israel, was a cofounder of Bay Area Friends of Women of the Wall, founding member of the SF Intefaith Council’s Women Religioius Leaders’ Network, was active in the campaign for Marriage Equality and also in “Not in Our Town,” a nationwide effort to combat Hate Crime.

Before ordination, Rabbi Glazer interned as a student chaplain at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and at the Kolot Center for Jewish Women and Gender studies. For a decade she served as the Cantorial Soloist of Kehilla Community Synagogue and also co-founded and recorded several albums with the internationally acclaimed Jewish Women’s a cappella ensemble, VOCOLOT. At Kehilla, Rabbi Glazer was also responsible for running the Bar & Bat Mitzvah Program where she inspired in her students a joy for Judaism and a love of Torah.

An environmental and community activist, Rabbi Glazer has worked as an organic farmer at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California and has completed a residential program at EcoME in the Dead Sea region where Israelis, Palestinians and Internationals lived together while studying and practicing Nonviolent Communication. In her spare time Rabbi Glazer swims, bikes, cooks, paints, designs beaded jewelry and hangs out with her five sabra nieces and nephews. She lives in the heart of Jerusalem’s German Colony.
