About the Group

The Sof Book Group began in 2005 by Carolann Biederman, founder and moderator. It’s an opportunity to foster community ruach by meeting in each other’s homes for lively discussions of fiction and nonfiction by Jewish authors and/or with themes that explore the Jewish experience. Typically we meet 6 – 7 times during the year. The discussion is moderated, so that all voices are heard and the meeting stays timely. Books and dates are chosen in advance for the entire year (subject to change when needed). Participants seem happy with the selections. The potential reading list continues to grow as folks suggest books all the time. Members enjoy hosting the group at a rotation of homes. Hosts provide snacks and drinks. The vibe is positive and we have a lot of fun.
